The first time I experienced Byron's photography was Coachella of this year (2010). He was lugging around this camera with a huge lens and he wouldn't stop taking photos of everything. He even managed to hijack one of my roommates wide angle (?) lenses for one night. Before then I had no idea that he was so into photography. These days it seems like everyone buys a nice camera and calls themselves a photographer, and they are right in that they take photographs and therefore can be deemed a photographer. I feel like theres a whole lot more to it then just point and shoot though. For the sake of capturing a memory then sure there is absolutely no need for something to be aesthetically nice (maybe your'e capturing a shitty moment like that guy that took a picture of the vulture and the baby). Byron doesn't just take pictures though. For me, he captures our (usually turbulent and self destructive) youth and makes it all seem calm and collected. If he takes photos to show us what he sees, then he sees a world much more calm than I do... and I'm glad.
