Bio:
Julie Garcia is a closet extrovert, an “introverted excavator” as Santigold would put it. So, although she may not be busting at the seams at first handshake, believe it when I say this girl’s got mad swagger and can hold her own in the world de media.
With that said, she’s got more than a back pocket full of interviewing, producing, and on-camera reporter/host experience. She paid her dues in college and earned a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism. Then, she took the rules she learned and broke them with sass and class. That Julie Garcia has a firm belief that informative information does not have to be delivered in stuffy attire and demeanor.
So, Julie found a career straight out the university gate at a baby fireball of a website called Palestra.net. She was a music journalista slash vlogger. It was a dream come true for the little music junkie as she interviewed hundreds of bands and artists including Paramore, Plain White T’s and Jason Mraz. She traveled to amazing festivals like SXSW, Warped Tour, Sundance, Rothbury and reported from a bunch of sweet venues. She hosted a syndicated music show on Fox called Music@ThePalestra. She produced, shot, and edited daily music news and gig guide segments. She participated in on-cam promotional pitches to various networks like ESPN. She hosted online segments on CNN.com, FoxNews.com, and Blender.com. She did all that for almost 3 years, then decided to fry a bigger fish… a big fat fish called California.
Ms. Garcia currently resides in L.A. and now she’s in search of a new niche or a spin off her old one. She can walk the walk, I’m talkin’ she “one-man-bands.” In broadcast slang, that means she knows how to successfully shoot video, produce scripts, and edit footage without help…although she more than appreciates it.
Some of her notable accomplishments include hosting an MTV pilot called “Bedroom Video Star” where contestants faced off singing from their rooms via web cam. She hosted mtvU’s Dean’s List. She was a disc jockey for Utah’s VFX, a top 40 station. She interviewed Montell Jordan, Michelle Branch, Dan Wilson of Semisonic, Andrew McMahon of Jack’s Mannequin and Patrick Monahan of Train. (That’s enough name-droppin’ for now.)
Julie’s got a black belt in sincerity and is sans bullsh*t. She speaks her mind, more than some advise. Julie learns like a ninja. She enjoys quad shot soy lattes and strumming her acoustic guitar. She'd like to kick up some sort of modeling career. She’s got an album out called “Ruby Kicks.” Feel free to purchase it on iTunes or AndyGarciaSounds.com. (She’s into shameless self-promotion.) She’s definitely not afraid to work her butt off. What are you waiting for? Somebody hire this bombshell.

Notes: always a work in progress
I met Julie at my short stint at everyone's favorite coffee shop- Starbucks. The first thing that struck me about Ms. Garcia was her bubbly attitude that she coupled with her edgy style. She would walk out from the back singing whatever song KIIS FM was playing that week while wearing studs and all black. I like her character- she is a sweet girl that will kick your ass if you fuck with her. I would love to tune in to her daily show on MTV. She is on the verge yall.
Love,
